Standards and accessibility
Standards Compliance
Websites designed and developed by key2design adhere to the standards as defined by the the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Why is this important?
- valid XHTML and CSS will help ensure the websites we build will look great all the common web browsers whether viewed in Internet Explorer 6 and 7, Firefox, Safari and Opera
- not only do our site look great, they are thoroughly tested to ensure they work the same in these web browsers
- valid code helps in making our websites useable by people with disabilities, such as those with visual impairments who require screen reading software
Accessibility
Web accessibility means that people with disabilities can use the Web. In many countries there it is a legal requirement for companies to take all reasonable steps to make their websites useable to people with disabilities. key2design take accessibility into account right from the design stage through to the launch of the site.
Government Website Standards
Our experience of developing Government websites has given us a wealth of knowledge of the specific requirements required by such sites. Being familiar with the NOIE Guide to Minimum Website Standards means we won't forget to cover all the details, including Dublin Core meta-data, standards compliance and accessibility.
